It is mid February.
I am officially over winter.
And yet… today’s snow is exceptional.
It wafts with a gentle purpose and paints everything with a softness that brings quiet.
Quiet that covers the movement of cars, crawling in slo-mo up and down the street until the hungry snow blower motors revved up, chewing through 8 or 9 inches of peace-making muffling tenderness.
Yes, I am ready for the sound of melting ice and the peek a boo games that our tulip heads play on the south side of the house.
But the snow is lovely.
So, winter boots, layers of leggings, furry jackets and leather gloves–chin up.
We are on for six more weeks.
