Ah, ’tis the eve of the New year…a time for revelry, glitz, food and spirits;
An opportunity to breathe in the last scents of a year grown old and tired;
A chance to wax poetic, sentimental, honest, hopeful.
With the exception of the glitz and revelry, I shall embark on my New Year’s preparations:
- Parmesan crusted beef tenderloin, baked yams, a pear, spinach and pomegranate salad
- A glowing fire to nurture us in the waning hours of 2014
- The warmth of blessed time with my best friend and spouse
No finery for this peacock tonight–it is a time to rest and reminisce on the good that has been, the hopes of good to come, and a few growing edges.
If you are interested in those hopes and strivings, check in tomorrow.
Have a sacred celebration tonight…
