Monday Spiritual Ruminations:a full moon…

There is much to ponder tonight.

The past week brought me to a renewal of spirit with the visit of Pope Francis to the US. I am left with more questions than answers, yet filled with joyful hope.

The face of the Catholic Church is changing and that is a blessing. Pope Francis has invited us all to be open, welcoming, and willing to live the Gospel. This is good. This is a refreshing message. It is the point after all, of all this religious business. But courage is needed to follow the pope’s lived example of genuine love.

Will we move beyond our corporate fear  of being  truly relevant? Can we trust that God is indeed in the process of growth?

These are questions to be pondered on an Autumn evening under the profound beauty of a full moon.

All will be well…

I am a fabric artist and a professional minister in the Catholic Church. I am married for 40+ years to a most fabulous man. We have 4 adult children, 2 daughter-in-laws ( who we also consider to our children!) and 4 grandbabies. I love to weave, paint silk, sew and design garments for myself; bead, read, write and color. I am also a spiritual Companion/Director and have a special place in my soul for women who are healing and in need of healing from trauma and abuse. I love coffee, quiet reflective prayer time at my kitchen table and long walks to breathe in the Holy Spirit. I would like to learn how to spin yarn and will someday create a spun, hand dyed/painted, beaded, woven fabulous garment of peace!
