Feathering Fridays: The November List…

A day late, a dollar poorer??

Not sure if that is the saying, but I am a day later with great reason: an out of town babysitting gig!

Which brings me to THE LIST.

Miss Mallie and I had a lovely stroll through the November afternoon yesterday. I was reminded of all the things I love about November.  Here are ten of them, in no particular order:

  1. The after-scent of burning leaves
  2. The gentle haze of said leaves on a cloudy November afternoon
  3. Sweaters, warm jackets and gloves that keep one comfortable
  4. Coffee shops filled with wayfarers
  5. Faded amber fields
  6. Early evenings and warm soups
  7. Sourdough bread
  8. Freshly baked chocolate chip cookies
  9. Planning for the Thanksgiving feast
  10. Anticipating the first snow flakes

This list is all about warm, cozy, and settling in.

How do you feather your November list? Do share….

I am a fabric artist and a professional minister in the Catholic Church. I am married for 40+ years to a most fabulous man. We have 4 adult children, 2 daughter-in-laws ( who we also consider to our children!) and 4 grandbabies. I love to weave, paint silk, sew and design garments for myself; bead, read, write and color. I am also a spiritual Companion/Director and have a special place in my soul for women who are healing and in need of healing from trauma and abuse. I love coffee, quiet reflective prayer time at my kitchen table and long walks to breathe in the Holy Spirit. I would like to learn how to spin yarn and will someday create a spun, hand dyed/painted, beaded, woven fabulous garment of peace!

  1. Mountain hiking, aspen leaves turning golden, coffee shop near us… Elk, mountain sheep, and deer sightings… First snowfall… Lovely micro-brews from our neighborhood pub… That is how two new residents of Estes Park, Colorado celebrate November!

  2. I love November! It is absolutely my favorite month. Southern California comes alive. Chilly nights and sunny days. Blue skies and puffy clouds. Thanksgiving and our annual camping trip to celebrate and reflect on all that we have to be thankful for.
