Monday Spiritual Rumination: all I’m sayin’…

While nestled in my child/grandchild/husband/extended family safe place of love and sweet joy this past week and a half, it seems as though the world completely lost it.

As in, whaaaat????

We have reached new lows in violence and hatred.

So much has been written and spoken and cried and sung already, I do not have much to add.

Except, perhaps, this little piece of wisdom from early grade school days;

We were graded on how well we worked and played together.

Yes—working and playing together. It begs the question, why can’t we all just get along?

Didn’t John Lennon ask this same question: “All I am saying, is give peace a chance…”

Enough already.

Put away the damn guns. Stop hating each other. Try, please, just try to see one other person today as a human being.

Really, all I’m sayin….

I am a fabric artist and a professional minister in the Catholic Church. I am married for 40+ years to a most fabulous man. We have 4 adult children, 2 daughter-in-laws ( who we also consider to our children!) and 4 grandbabies. I love to weave, paint silk, sew and design garments for myself; bead, read, write and color. I am also a spiritual Companion/Director and have a special place in my soul for women who are healing and in need of healing from trauma and abuse. I love coffee, quiet reflective prayer time at my kitchen table and long walks to breathe in the Holy Spirit. I would like to learn how to spin yarn and will someday create a spun, hand dyed/painted, beaded, woven fabulous garment of peace!
