Happy New Year and welcome to a new decade!
Since we are entering a new time frame, I thought it was an appropriate moment to grow my blog.
To be quite honest, the idea of a new decade did not really dawn on me until New Year’s Eve. Normally, the usual news sources of the day would have pounded me with lists of famous people, best accomplishments, etc. of the past decade, but for reasons unknown, this was not the case. My husband and I mutually came to the realization of this new Chronos experience. As we talked through this mutual awareness, we swiftly jumped to the next level, that, when we reach 2030, we will be married 50+ years and we will be in our 70’s.
Oh my…Back to the present.
I mentioned Chronos. That is our measured time frame. Yet every day, I feel more immersed in Kairos—God’s time. Perhaps that is why the big decade change eluded me.
Anyway, here we are in 2020 and as mentioned in my previous blog post, I have entered my gray years. May I please thank the lovely group of women who have so boldly flaunted the beauty of silver, white and various shades of gray that are now the iconic statement of beauty for us boomers! I do look forward to the countless innovations that will arise in the next 5 to 10 years as the boomers continue to gray and in doing so, drive the social story.
This is a long way to make the point of growing my blog! Last spring I floated the “remake” idea to my Facebook friends. Their comments were almost exclusively asking for the sharing of women’s wisdom. I do not pretend to carry profundity in this area, but I do like to wonder. Thus, a new category in the Peacock is that of Wisdom Wonderings. I hope that I will hear from many of you and look forward to enjoying our shared and discerned wisdom!
I will continue to post Spiritual Ruminations, probably in the form of poetry/prayer. [Spoiler alert—one of my long-range goals is to write 150 “psalms” for our time. This is a project I am still dreaming, but may try out on you from time to time.]
And of course, what is a peacock without her featherings? Ideas on skin, body, cosmetics, fashion and home will appear as well, with a heavy bias towards those of us in our second half of life.
Alright—with courage, we go into the new decade. May God bless us all…

Happy New Year! I look forward to the new posts. I’ll take any words of wisdom on offer! I wish you a wonderful 2020.
Thanks so much!
Happy New Year! As a fellow ‘grey lady’ I look forward to reading your wonderings, ruminations and featherings!

Looking forward to your new category! Women sharing wisdom sounds like a great idea. Beautiful artwork, by the way. Happy New Year to you and yours.
And to you as well! And thank you for your thoughtful comments. Blessings!
